Well this one blew all weather reports (at least the ones I saw/read). What was supposed to be rain developing into snow with little to no accumulation and no hazard to roadways became... well, not the "blizzard of '05" really, but hardly nothing. By my fairly unscientific methods of measurement, we have 2.5" here. And it did stick to the roads - and how. There were some stretches of Rt 50 that were pretty scary this morning. VDOT was finally putting down sand and chemical goo shortly before noon.

Yesterday I had the windows open (hoping to air the illness out of the house) and rejoiced at my first little miniature iris that I planted last fall opening up their tiny blue blooms.

Today I pulled my heavy coat back out of the closet. Though I generally enjoy any excuse to wear my black leather imitation Psi Corp gloves, I wasn't so happy about it today. I'm so done with winter, being couped up and coughing.

Marcus woke up in the early morning with a fever. We still aren't through it all yet. I'm seriously considering having someone come out and clean the entire ventilation system in the house, just to try and conquer this never ending cycle once and for all. Yesterday I couldn't blow my nose without pressurizing my ears.

My mother claims that sudden swings in weather and temperature just contribute to illness. I don't know, really. But I was not encouraged by the (moronic) comment of the weather guy on the radio this morning: "All this wild weather ought to calm down as we head into April."

Ya think?
